Responsible Gaming

Matchbook’s Responsible Gambling Policy
Matchbook believes it is our responsibility to you, our customers, to promote responsible gaming and ensure the delivery of gaming services in a socially responsible environment.

Matchbook is committed to promoting an awareness of problem gambling and improving our own prevention and intervention procedures. All of our staff receive training in social responsibility and problem gambling awareness.

Deposit limits
Matchbook allows you to set Weekly and Monthly Deposit Limits to help customers control the amount they are spending. To setup a Deposit Limit on your account please email us at responsible@matchbook.com

Once confirmed, these limits will be enforced immediately. Any request to increase a previously set limit will not take effect for a minimum of 24 hours.

Self-exclusion
If you feel you need to take a break from gambling, we provide the facility for you to close your account for a minimum period of 6 months, with the option of a longer period if necessary.

To exclude yourself from your Matchbook account, please e-mail responsible@matchbook.com with your username and address details as well as the period of time you wish to be excluded for (minimum of 6 months).

During the exclusion period your account will not be re-opened under any circumstances. After the exclusion period has elapsed a written request will be required before we will consider re-opening the account.

During this period, we will also take all reasonable measures to prevent you form using the Matchbook services. When requesting self-exclusion you are also agreeing to refrain from attempting to circumvent the procedures we have in place to prevent you from placing a bet during the exclusion period.

Underage gambling
It is illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to open an account or gamble with Matchbook. We require new members to declare that they are over 18 years of age and carry out age verification checks on all new accounts.

In an effort to prevent underage access to the gaming products offered by Matchbook, we are registered at the following parental control filtering engines:

Controlling your gambling
Matchbook recognises that for a small group of people gambling within their means can be difficult. With this in mind, we would ask all our customers to consider the following:
  - Gambling, in moderation, is a leisure pursuit and not a genuine way of making money
  - Only gamble with money you can afford to lose
  - Don’t spend more on gambling in the hope of winning back money you’ve already lost
  - Don’t gamble in order to escape from stress or boredom
  - If you think you may need help, contact responsible@matchbook.com

Recognising a gambling problem
If you are concerned that you may have a gambling problem then please ask yourself the following questions:

  1. Do you lose time from work or college due to gambling?
  2. Do you gamble to escape from something or just to pass the time?
  3. Do you ever gamble alone for long periods of time?
  4. Do you ever gamble to make money to pay off debts?
  5. After losing, do you feel the need to gamble more to recover your losses?
  6. After winning, do you feel the need to try and win more?
  7. Do you often gamble until you lose all of your money?
  8. Have you ever lied, stolen or borrowed to facilitate your gambling?
  9. Have you ever sold anything to finance gambling?
  10. Are you reluctant to use gambling money for normal expenditure?
  11. Do arguments or disappointments ever make you feel like gambling?
  12. Have you ever felt depressed or suicidal as a result of your gambling?

The more of these questions that you answer ‘Yes’ to, the more likely it is that gambling is adversely affecting your life. To speak with someone who can give you advice and support, please contact one of the organizations below.

Working Together
Matchbook is a proud member of the Antigua Online Gaming Association (AOGA), an industry group committed to maintaining a responsible gaming sector here in Antigua and Barbuda. We are working closely with the Antiguan government and the Financial Services Regulator Commission (FSRC) to ensure that Antigua continues to meet and exceed international standards of best practice in regards to responsible gaming.

In support of this, the AOGA, in conjunction with the FSRC, has established a "Gaming Addiction Research and Education Fund" to help in educating the public on the risks associated with gaming, increase social awareness, particularly with minors, and provide resources for the treatment of problem gambling. The AOGA is united with The Commission on the importance of these measures
